Community Involvement
Living in my community for over 40 years has deeply ingrained in me the value of giving back. I've dedicated 17 years to volunteering, serving as a board member, advisory council and committee member for various causes and nonprofits.
Alongside my husband Rafael, with whom I've shared over 25 years of marriage, we've actively supported Glendale Public schools, local gardens, museums, hospitals, and libraries. During the years when our children attended Glendale public schools, I served on the PTA Executive Board as Auditor and member of the School Site Council. Additionally, we maintain connections with alumni associations such as UCLA, California State University, Northridge, University of Laverne, Loyola Marymount University, and Ernst & Young LLP.
As an appointed member of Glendale Community College Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee, I attend meetings with the college's leadership team and provide advice to ensure the $325 million Measure GC Bond funds are used effectively to enhance education for our entire community.
Driven by a passion for financial literacy and education, I provide guidance to Santa Monica College's faculty and administration for their "Career and Technical Education" program as a member of the Advisory Committee.
The impact of cancer on lives led me to get involved as a founding member of the Glendale Adventist Medical Center's Cancer Care Guild in 2011, where I've served as President. Through the years I have served on the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Foundation and now sit on the Civic Advisory Board, supporting the hospital's mission and raising philanthropic support for the cancer center.
In honor and loving memory of my brother Arbi, who had won first place in the National Math Championship while attending New York Military Academy, my family established an education foundation promoting academic excellence. Since 1997, we've annually awarded scholarships to students excelling in math at Chamlian School in Glendale.
I'm committed to continuing my efforts to enhance educational resources in our community. Please feel free to reach out to me directly via email at tina.parsegian@lpl.com or at (818)476-5255 with any opportunities for collaboration.
